At the Fondation de l'Hôpital régional de Saint-Jérôme, we value the well-being of our community, in every sense of the word. We are proud to put forth our ecological efforts and we hope to improve these efforts year after year. For 2022, here are our first concrete actions!

MEDALS

The medals that will be distributed to participants in the race will be made from recyclable rubber, provided  by Soucy Baron, in order to reduce their ecological impact. Additionally, the visual design will be timeless i.e. no date, address or other specific information. This will allow leftover medals to be used in subsequent years.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Several trash cans and recycling bins will be made available to participants in convenient locations. Our objective is to encourage proper ecological habits in order to dissuade littering.

EMISSION REDUCTION

This year, the Foundation is opting for snacks and beverages that do not require refrigeration, thereby reducing emissions caused by additional generators and refrigerated trucks.

COMMUNICATIONS

We minimize the use of paper in our communications by prioritizing electronic means. When we have no choice but to use paper or posters, we ensure that they are to be recycled or reused.

GREEN TEAM

A team of volunteers will be dedicated to encouraging and ensuring that participants adopt proper ecological habits.

WATER

Runners will be able to get water from a water fountain provided by Fontaine Mobile inc. This fountain is equipped with a refrigeration, filtration and water purification system, while remaining closely linked to their ecological values. This initiative advocates the adoption of reusable bottles and can replace up to 1,500 disposable plastic bottles just for this event. SO, BRING YOUR REUSABLE BOTTLE!
