10 Tips to Keep your Fundraiser Moving!


1. Get started as soon as you register!

2. Have a list of potential supporters: family, friends, employees, employers, business partners, colleagues, professionals you see (your dentist, mechanic, banker, pharmacist, accountant, doctor, hairdresser, etc.)

3. Explain to your supporters why you are involved with our BBBS Cornwall. You can do it by word of mouth or sharing your participant profile to social media and don't forget to share your photos and videos! #MFKS2023.

4. Share! Your amazing photos and videos to your social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), or poster. - Download the Move for Kids’ Sake poster here

5. Post regular updates on your fundraising page to keep your supporters informed of your amazing progress toward your goal.

6. Make requests to everyone you know everywhere you go. In case of refusal? Thank the person and offer to get involved next year!

7. Let your supporters know they will receive an automatic tax receipt for every online donation.

8. Always thank each of your supporters.

9. Do not hesitate to show your incredible commitment to BBBS CORNWALL and your determination to achieve your goal. Keep posting on social network, make sure to tag us in every photo or video! #MFKS2023.

10. Your efforts are important and greatly appreciated! By raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and Districts Mission: 

  • Every Child Who Needs a Mentor, Has a Mentor.
  • Providing free, mentoring program and services for the children and youth in our community
  • To assist children, from primarily lone parent families in Cornwall and S. D.  & G., to achieve their full potential through mentoring programs with caring, responsible adult volunteers.




*ABOUT DONATIONS

All online donations will immediately receive a tax receipt by email.

All cash or cheque donations must be accompanied by each donor's complete contact information so that we can issue a valid tax receipt. Please bring donations in cash and cheque to Big Brothers Big sisters of Cornwall and District located on 101 Third Street W, Cornwall ON K6J 2N9.

ACTIVITIES TO KEEP YOU MOVING!


GET MOVING ON YOUR FUNDRAISING​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Register through Move for Kids' Sake online portal, personalize your team page and set a team fundraising. Invite your network to get involved by sharing your page to social media, and sending an email to encourage everyone to sign-up, donate & fundraise.

MOVE WITH A BOWLING NIGHT

Strike up your local bowling alleys (Nativity Bowling or Chesterville Bowling) Share your team photos and videos on your social media. If you can't make it to a bowling alley, find a creative way to bowl from home using household items! Example: use water bottles as pins and rolled up socks as your ball or use your Wii and play WiiBowl.

KEEP MOVING!

Be on the move. Example: polar bear dip, walk, jog, jump rope, pushups, or run a 5k. The possibilities are endless!

MFK LEADER CHALLENGE

Invite a member of your leadership team to participate in the Move Leader Challenge to help raise funds. Participants must complete the challenge or choose to buy-out by matching the funds raised. Examples could include: 100 pushups, 5K run, wear a silly hat or costume to work, or dye their hair a funky color and share a photo on their social media.

GET SOCIAL!

Share your fundraising team page to your social media platforms and challenge your friends, family, and workplace to help you reach your fundraising goal.

GAMES TO MOVE YOU!

Pickleball, Rock Climbing, Paddle Boarding, Walk, Capture the flag, Hide and Seek, Bocce Ball or Musical Chairs.
